Prosearch Consultants is a sports-based communication consultancy in Mumbai, India run by two alumni from IIM-Ahmedabad—the husband-wife team of Anita and Harsha Bhogle. All Prosearch offerings attempt to use examples from sport for brand-based communication . Prosearch’s flagship product is “The Winning Way” , a motivational workshop that uses the metaphor of sport to discuss topics like team building, leadership , management of change etc. The format in longer workshops is of an interactive nature, where apart from the presentation, the audience participates in group games, case studies, introspection activities etc. The Winning Way has, in the last six years, been to over 150 conference rooms (see client list). Each session is tailormade to address specific issues and challenges faced by the company / business group. Prosearch takes pride in the fact that most clients have come back for more; either for a different audience or another product group. Apart from the corporate sessions, Prosearch has done a 5-session teaching module at IIM-Ahmedabad, three executive training sessions at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and smaller sessions at several colleges and business schools on popular request. Prosearch also addressed the Indian cricket team on a tour to the West Indies. Prosearch produced Masterstrokes, a hugely successful 10-episode program on CNBC, India’s leading business television channel. Masterstrokes , in a sense was a TV adaptation of The Winning Way, with a sports star and a corporate head as panellists. Various topics like Execution v/s strategy, handling failure , managing success, turning teams around etc were discussed in different episodes. Prosearch has also worked with Heinz to create educational cricket material for a milk-additive brand aimed at children. The Presenters Anita Bhogle Anita is the content person for Prosearch. A post-graduate in Statistics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai and a post-graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Anita started her career in advertising. Her first job was at Contract, a J Walter Thompson agency, followed by a stint at FCB-Ulka, one of India’s top ad agencies (and part of the Foote, Cone, Belding group). Anita then spent about 10 years running a communication consultancy and qualitative research agency, even scripting and producing three TV ad commercials. This explains the origin of the name Prosearch! From 1998 to 2001, Anita went back to FCB-Ulka to head their Strategic planning and research department . In 2001, Harsha came on board since sports marketing came of age in India and Prosearch saw a big opportunity in the area. Harsha’s ringside view of sports combined with Anita’s experience with brands and new business pitches helps Prosearch effectively marry sports and management and makes their offering unique to the Indian market. Harsha Bhogle Harsha makes the presentations that Anita creates and in doing so, they play to each other’s strengths. He has had a most unusual career since graduating in chemical engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad and doing a post graduate programme in management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. After working in advertising for two years and in a sports management firm for another two years he moved into the world of broadcasting and has now emerged as the face of Indian cricket and is widely believed to be India’s leading sports commentator. For the last twelve years he has presented cricket on ESPN and Star Sports and has even had a talent hunt named after him (Hunt for Harsha!). His exposure to the world of management not only provides him with different insights into sport and broadcasting but helps marry Anita’s strong thinking into a very successful corporate programme.
Lecture Series
An inside view of cricket and a background in management and communication have helped us put together this lecture series that is unique to the Indian market Topics covered include goal-setting, team-building, building team culture, leadership, managing change and managing success. Prosearch is also equipped to invite leading sports personalities as guest speakers at such workshops and to create motivational material as leave-behinds. The presentation, which is mostly of an anecdotal nature, is supported by audiovisual footage and print material that is used as handouts Motivational Programs These come in various formats - a presentation lasting upto two hours (with any audience size) or longer formats upto a day ( for upto 50 participants) that are a combination of presentation modules and interactive case studies or exercises based on the modules. The modules deal with issues faced by that particular business group. Keynote Speech A popular choice as an opening or closing session at conferences. It is a talk that touches upon various issues relating to team building and leadership. Informal evenings of cricket Light, fun evenings with Harsha. A short talk followed by lots of interaction. Gives the audience (like top end clients or associates of a company) a chance to discuss cricket, ask questions etc. Very popular with select audiences for companies. Panel discussions These are light sessions involving guest sportsmen, moderated by Harsha. Largely built around current topics in cricket and key events in the sports calendar, these allow audiences a chance to interact with celebrity sportsmen.
